textsynthese
Eva Beierheimer/Miriam Laussegger

Textsynthese is an ongoing project by Eva Beierheimer and Miriam Laussegger.
It deals with the role of text in visual art and plays with the relationship between art and its description.
The starting point of Textsynthese are sentences selected from various books.
Put together in a new constellation these sentences/phrases form a new text with a new context.
This text is used as “exhibition-text” and gives the instructions for artistic interventions.
Since the resulting objects refer to the text, which was generated first, it inverts the conventional way of translating a piece of art to a text relating to the work.
